Hydro cleaning uses high-pressure water and a specialist cleaning agent to flush soot and ash out of the DPF in situ. It removes deposits that thermal regeneration alone cannot burn off, including baked-in ash from oil ingestion and fuel injector faults.
It is the closest thing to a brand-new DPF without the brand-new price. For filters that are intact but heavily loaded, hydro cleaning restores flow to near-factory levels.
Hydro is the right answer when the filter substrate is physically intact but loaded with ash and soot beyond what regeneration can clear. If the substrate is melted or cracked, replacement is the only option. We will tell you honestly which category your car falls into.
